Why did God become a man? In this session of the study we take a look at what was accomplished by Christ by His putting on humanity. We also take a look at some of the historical evidence supporting the reliability of the New Testament.

This audio is of the Wednesday night study at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Moody, TX, taught by pastor Marc Lambert.

The Bible Fast Forward material is produced by Stand to Reason, and the addition historical information is taken from the True-U series “Is The Bible Reliable?”.

And the groovy tunes are by Mark Swayze.

1 John 4:8, “… God is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:4, “Love is … not jealous

Exodus 20:5, “the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me”

Excerpt from a sermon at Liberty Hill Baptist Church from James 4.

It’s a chilling fact that most Christians, within a few years of becoming Christian, will have no nonChristian friends.
While it is true that we need to be careful of the influences we allow in our lives, does the Bible really say that we cannot have nonChristian friends?

This same question came up at a Q&A Event in October of 2012. See how the panel of pastors answered then: Why did God create Satan and sin?

How Would YOU Answer?

This past Sunday, following service, a lady approached me and said that during the message something I had said sparked a question from her son.

He asked, “If God knew that we would sin, then why did He create us to begin with?”

That is an excellent and insightful question from this young man. This is a common question that comes to believers both from skeptics and unbelievers as well as within our ownheart. Faced with that question, what anser would YOU give? Please feel free to post your responses in the comments here or on Facebook.

Later this week, I will post my response to this important question.

Part 2 of the examination of The Problem of Evil and Suffering. Pastor Marc explains how morally sufficient reasons alleviate the logical tention with the intellectual problem, and how the God of the Bible is actually a solution to suffering, and not a problem.
